Sometimes technology is just like thorns on roses…
In this blog, I have NO pictures. Why, you might ask? Well, it’s because I cannot post pictures on my iPad to my blog… I can do everything else about making the blog and uploading the podcast for your listening pleasure, but try as I might, I cannot physically add pictures to my blog posts.
This, I abhor.
I WANT to give you pictures.
So, I’m trying to figure out how to upload the cool pictures that I have taken on my phone’s camera to TUMBLR because heaven knows, I can’t hook my camera up to my iPad and upload pictures so I can post them ON MY BLOG. (grrrrrrrr)
So, please be patient with me… I really love my iPad. I just don’t like that there are certain things I can’t do with it yet.
On this podcast, Valerie Burton and I talk about getting ready for the HMQS show, (Home Machine Quilting Show).
They pulled a switcheroo on us today and gave us EXTRA booth space, so after we had gotten about 75% of the way done, they came over and asked us if we wanted the booth next door to us too because the people who were going to take the booth had to cancel. OH MY GOSH — are you kidding??!! Of course we do! (even though it meant an additional 6-8 hours of labor to do it…)
So an emergency trip to Walmart solved our display problem for a second booth and we were there til 8:00 when they kicked us all out for the night. Now, we’re scrambling to add more display pieces, fold more fabric and make more charms and be at the expo center two hours before the show starts so we can have everything in tip top shape when the doors open in the morning.
Sorry the podcast came out before the blog — two days in a row. I think I’m trying to balance too many plates. But I’m determined to keep my promise!
Ok, don’t forget to comment on the blog here to have a chance to win some native Utah goodies — a tin of Sweet’s chocolate covered Cinnamon Bears and a Salt City candle.
I’ll pick the winner tomorrow night – Thursday, May 5th. Listen to the podcast to find out who the winner is of Program 196!!

Sounds like a lot a work getting your booth ready. I hope that you have fun at the show. I hope that you figure out how to post pictures. I would love to see how you used your extra space.
I commented yesterday on your podcast #197 – hope all is going well without any last min. emergencies! Do you use “Dropbox” on your Ipad? I love that free app on my Iphone (and will use also on my soon-to-get Ipad – yippee!) as it’s great for sending photos or any file to your devices, computer, etc – esp. if you don’t have a direct connection. Would love to see a future blog on apps people like and how they come in handy for quilting! Have fun there!
Hi Annie
Loving your frequent post and podcasts. How is Valerie Burton exactly? I must have missed her intro. I always wondered how people get ready for vending at shows. Looks like so much fun and so much work. Hope all is great in the end.

Oh Annie,
All that hard work setting up in Valerie’s living room and it was for nought! That must have been a sight, sorry we can’t see the pictures. I’m glad everything turned out ok with the extra space. Have fun at the show.

I am glad to hear that you were able to successfully set up your booth. Someone mentioned dropbox as a way to use your photos, I have not tried it but am hoping to set one up so my family can share in the photos of the kids.
Well, Annie – I’d love to be able to be in Salt Lake City with you! We were there probably 5 years ago in the fall, and I loved the downtown area and temple square….so neat to check in and find info about my great-grandfather at the library as well.
Chocolate covered cinnamon bears? Well, that’s a combination I’d never thought about! Candles are always a favorite though 🙂
Have a great time in your expanded booth!
Loved the story of meeting Marie Osmond and the quilt show adventure of getting a booth together!!
You are such good sports!
What a fun time you girls are having getting your booth together! Can’t wait to see the before and after pictures – yeah, the Ipad is wonderful except for a few little things I hope they will improve soon. Love the Osmond story Valerie told – one to never forget :-)Hope your feet were all better in the morning.
Hope your time at the show is spectacular.
Hey Annie, does the camera/memory card adaptor for iPad work with your camera? I got mine at Target for the usual $30.00.
