Ok, I am truly lame and I admit it!!
I prepared this podcast and wrote the copy for the blog to release yesterday (Monday) and my son calls me this afternoon and says, “hey mom, I thought you did the podcast yesterday!”
I saved the draft and thought I hit the publish button but DID NOT!
So I apologize BIG. So, the podcast says that I will pick the winner for the giveaway on Tuesday night,(tonight), but instead I will pick the winner on Wednesday night.
The giveaway is an assortment from the three interviews:
Pearl Perreira of P3Designs talks about how she gets her inspiration for her highly detailed applique quilts. Here are a few that she talked about:

Then, Alyssa Thomas of Penguin and Fish talks about how she came into the quilting industry from a different career.
Finally Miriam of Grabaroos tells us about the different uses for the Grabaroo gloves beside being the best machine quilting gloves available, and Purple too!
So the giveaway is:
One of Pearl’s Applique and Pressing Tools

A Penguin and Fish Alligator pattern

And a pair of your very own Grabaroo gloves

I will pick ONE lucky winner, again, at midnight, Wednesday night.
To enter, leave me a comment about what you enjoyed from the interviews and what you learned that you didn’t know before.
And stay tuned for more!!

I found it interesting that Pearl used inspiration from the same artist in her Christmas and 4th of July quilt without even trying. The stories of the donkey and elephant was fun also. Her quilts are beautiful.
I like that Pearl design her own blocks for her Baltimore quilts. I am so tired of designers who just regurgitate designs first developed by Elli S and Mimi Detrich. I know they are inspired by the original Baltimores but I think they should come up with their own designs.
Thanks for the hard work in getting the interviews …. I know computer work eats up time and energy.

I keep telling myself a Baltimore album is in my future, but it keeps getting pushed to the back burner. This interview gave me a little motivation.
Annie,
I’ve had such fun catching up with all the podcasts from April into May! I know I’ve likely missed another drawing, but I just had to comment on this latest podcast. What did I enjoy most? The interviews with Pearl and with the “Grabaroo Gal”. Being Canadian, I had no idea about how the Democrats and Republicans got their symbols — that was great fun to learn. (I admit the donkey didn’t surprise me; our politicians up here could use that one too!)
I was also interested to learn that Pearl/P3 was the one who designed the “Baltimore Hallowe’en”. One of my TAS Chapter friends has been working on that one as a BOM, and it’s just delightful!
I don’t like wearing gloves when I quilt (actually, I don’t like wearing gloves for much of anything), but I’m going to have to see if I can try out a pair of Grabaroos…and if they don’t bother me, I just might invest.
Thanks again for all your hard work, Annie. I really enjoy your ‘casts and your blog.
Annie,
Welcome home!! Loved the interviews, especially Pearl because I just did some hand applique’ on a baby quilt I made for a dear friend! I used your book for inspiration for the applique’ design. The applique’ took me longer than I thought it would and now appreciate and admire all who hand applique’ !!!
LOVE Pearl’s Christmas quilt. Wonder if I should try to tackle a smaller Christmas applique’ quilt!! Loved her interview!
I listened to podcast #197 before listening to #196! Please include me in the drawing for the Utah chocolate bears.
Those Grabaroos sound like they’ll be handy for dry-hand days when I can’t move the fabric very well.
Annie – so glad you are back! I’m still catching up with all the podcasts – here’s an idea for you –
Iphone apps for quilting/sewing. I got one last summer and don’t know what I would do without it. Of course, apps can be for more than the iphone…. Anyway – so glad your back!!
Sandi from Alpharetta
I wanted to comment to #197 but guess we do it here, as don’t see a blog up yet for it? Sounds like you 2 are having way too much fun – hope you’ll be well rested for the show and your both gets lots of visitors as I’m sure it will. Wishing you a successful show and look forward to seeing photos of your both – sounds delightful!
Yay! I listened to the podcast on the way to work this morning and thought “Darn, missed the draw already!” So, I’m glad I didn’t.
I enjoyed listening to Alyssa – she sounds like someone who really enjoys life! But those grabaroo gloves intrigue me! I use Machingers now, but like the idea of being able to thread the machine or pick up pins with the gloves on.
Pearl’s quilts are fabulous. And I can’t believe that designs all came from her head! The work of a genius quilter!
I have gotten her “Baltimore Halloween.” It still takes my breath away although I haven’t started it yet. The applique work is so intricate, I don’t know which method to use that would be fitting for a quilt this beautiful. I’d love to try her applique and pressing tool. Perhaps I can use it for starch applique on this quilt!
Oh My Gosh! I love Baltimore Halloween!
