Well Quilters,
It was bound to happen. I arrived in Houston yesterday afternoon and had a wonderful time hanging out with Texas pals Pat and Jean. We went to our favorite place to eat in Houston, Black Eyed Pea, and later that evening… IT HIT ME.

I’ve had all of the typical flu symptoms combined with, ummm… how do I say this gently… the typical food poisoning symptoms.
I am so upset that this is happening in the middle of my roadtrip. But on the positive side, I’m so glad I have these two angels, Pat and Jean to take such good care of me.
I’m thinking that I will need to sit-out today and (hopefully) start to feel better. The plan is to continue my trip tomorrow. That will bring me to North Carolina on Friday instead of Thursday.
If I’m feeling a little better today, I’ll check-in with Webguy and see if I can get a podcast out to you.

I hope you are feeling better! Lots of rest and a big warm quilt! Will that work on the road? Probably not, better to be safe and well and one day behind! I’m sending you a big bowl of cyber-chicken soup!
Cheers,
Dionne
You just take your time!! I was thinking yesterday when I heard your voice that – wow – she’s really burning the candle at both ends and probably should take a day to not travel and just rest. I’m sure EVERYONE will understand if it takes you longer than expected. Worse would be having something dreadful happen. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!
Hi Annie
You are in a warmer place where you are that VT. Very windy today- I even got stuck in a snow drift in the middle of the road! Tomorrow will be only 5 degrees, tonight we expect heavy snow. But this is typical for mid January. I should know- as the extremes tend to hit 1/14. It’s my 50th birthday tomorrow! I’m starting to celebrating with a solo mini shop hop in central VT. One shop has a cool birthday discount of 25% of your age. BTW it’s also Alex’s birthday too, but she beat me to 50 by a few years.
I’m really enjoying your Road-Casts. Be well and keep having fun.
Claire
BEST TO REST!! North Carolina will still be here when you get here. Thank goodness for your angels looking after you. Hope to see you happy and well soon.
Denise
Hi Annie, It was so nice to meet you last night! I am so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I hope you are feeling better today. This flu going around is not any fun at all, I know as I had it 2 weeks ago! Have a safe journey and I think your web site and pod casts are wonderful!
I’m so glad to have been able to meet you. Thanks Pat for introducing us.
Blessings, Jill Rimes (SunFlower Quilts- Houston)
I didn’t think you sounded very good yesterday. Not your perky self. I hope this passes soon! But please resume your trip unless it is safe for you to drive. We will wait for your next podcast with patience cuz your the best!
Barb
It’s also a blessing that “IT” hit you while you were with friends instead of on the road in the middle of nowhere. I’ll keep you in my prayers, and you just rest untill you feel better.
Hi Annie;
Hope you’re feeling better. I had it a few weeks ago too, also when I was travelling. Had a wild headache after the messy part was over, hope that doesn’t happen to you. Drink lots of fluids.
Can’t wait to hear more travel stories, but being safe and feeling well come first.
