also known as Lori Holt —
I have been a long-time fan of Lori’s, all the way back to her tole painting days, but I absolutely LOVE Lori’s quilts. So much, that I have bought Lori’s patterns and kits to make ones of my own because I love hers so much! I think that says a lot, since I design my own too.
Here is a pic of my favorite pattern design of Lori’s (and the kit I bought):
To see close-up pictures of each of the blocks, visit Lori’s blog on this link for Comforts of Home and you’ll understand why I love this quilt so much.
Ok, so visit Lori’s blog to check out EVERYTHING that’s there — it will take you a while ; )
Make sure to come back and leave a comment here for a chance to win one of these great new patterns by Lori:

Tell me what inspires you most about Lori’s blog and her quilt designs, and which of the three patterns you would like to win.
I will choose three winners on Tuesday, June 14th and announce here on the blog — don’t forget that you have to come back here and check to see if you won, and send me your mailing address, because I don’t have it ; )
Oh, by the way, here are pictures of the two All Dolled Up in Salt Lake City quilts that were made by Utah Quilters who are in the industry. You can also get the free patterns by visiting the blog, All Dolled Up.

Fantastic, isn’t it?! No one can relate to sitting under that hair dryer bonnet that never did… I remember it well and those curlers! This block is so Lori!

I remember sitting under the hair dryer too Annie. My brother would sneak up from behind and turn the heat up to high and It would get so hot. I’d turn the temperature down and pretty soon, he’d do it again. What memories.
I’ve been a fan of Lori’s too. Her quilts are full of memories and good feelings. I love her colors. I especially would love to win the cake walk pattern. Now I’m going to listen to the podcast that I know I will enjoy.
Feel better. It will take time, but hang in there. I’ve had broken ribs and it hurts like………!
So sorry to hear of your accident! Nothing is worse than having to put parts of your life on hold due to physical issues, but I am glad to hear you are improving.
I had never seen Lori’s quilts before. I simply loved her website. Her designs are so colorful and happy. It’s like Quilty Comfort Food! I really enjoyed looking at all the goodies. The hardest part is deciding which of the patterns I like best. I guess if i were fortunate enough to win one of them, I would choose the “One Yard Apron” pattern. I’ve had a thing for aprons for a while now and can’t seem to get over it.
May you heal speedily!
Hi Annie
I love the designs from Lori – they are so unique and wonderfully nostalgic and colourful. Looking at Loris blog made me happy – I guess it is the colours. Her new design ‘Home’ is amazing. If I am lucky enough to win a pattern it would have to be Cake Walk – yummy!. C
I love your podcasts and blogs Annie – you have introduced me to many interesting sites and quilters! I like Lori’s use of color and embroidery. I really like the cake pattern – looks like a lot of fun to make. Sue in sunny Florida
I visited Lori’s blog and loved it, of course. I looked at one older entry called The Quilter’s Life and pondered. Would I seriously make such a quilt to hang on my sewing room, wall? I love the quilt and would love to see it hanging on either my wall or my sister’s. Would I buy it for myself? Hmmmm. Certainly something to ponder.
Hope you are feeling “uncracked” soon. I have seen Lori’s quilts before and loved how she seems to capture my childhood so well without even knowing me. I would choose Comforts of Home, Family Reunion, and Cakewalk.
Thank you for introducing me to Lori. Her designs are so colorful, so fun and I would love one of her patterns. They make me think of my grandmother’s kitchen. Her dishtowels, napkins, table cloths and curtains look like her quilts. I especially love Fenced Flowers that you are offering.
Oh So sad on your accident. Hope you are healing fast.
Can’t believe Lori Holts website’s like going down memory lane. Her verse are so sweet also. Which one would you choose Annie ?
I love the paper dolls. ( I keep going back and forth on my favorite ones.)
Take care and thanks for doing the contest.
Jan
Annie,
Sorry to hear about your spill, but nothing seems to slow you down!
Lori’s sight is eye candy! I love the hexie pillow and love her fabric covered spools, need to put that on my to do list.
If I win, I’d love the one yard apron pattern! I love to at least look good when I cook!
Wow she is amazing. I’d love to win the Apron quilt pattern.
Okay the apron quilt pattern isn’t one of the choices, although I love that one!!! If you choose my name, I would love the apron pattern. I can’t believe how busy you are.
Such a bummer about your accident. Fortunatly the human body does heal!
I loved Lori’s website and blog, and her vintage style. My favorite pattern of hers is the Cake Walk pattern. I love food related fabric and designs!
I’ve been a fan of Lori’s for a long time! I’m currently working on her Grandma’s Kitchen pattern and it’s been so much fun to make. I hope I win the Cake Walk pattern!
Sitting under the hair dryer — yes, I remember that. My mother’s was not a ‘hard top’ though — it looked more like a heavy-duty shower cap!
Thanks for introducing me to Lori and her work. I love her bright and cheerful patterns and her use of colour. I had all sorts of paper dolls when I was a little girl — it was one of my favourite pastimes — so I really like that pattern, as well as the “Comforts of Home”.
What really inspires me from Lori’s blog, though, is the wee caption defining ‘A Bee in My Bonnet’ — as “a creative buzzing in my head trying to get out”. I can relate! 🙂
Oh, I forgot to say what inspires me about Lori’s blog! I love all those vintage things she buys and all the cute pincushions and other items she makes for her friends. She’s so talented! I have a collection of pink depression glass, old linens, teapots, etc. I even have two of my grandmother’s aprons–I guess I just love the same things that Lori loves. Her blog give me ideas and just makes me happy!
I hope you are feeling better soon Annie! I have never heard of Lori Holt (don’t know HOW I could have missed her) but you can’t help but smile at all her creations. It makes me feel that I might be able to do something beautiful with my own memories and style. thanks for your warm encouragement and for introducing us to to all your creative friends!!
