Aurifil Calendar Girl!

It’s finally here, the month of June with all of its’ intrigues — like rain and chilly weather in normally sunny California. Now, lest you think that this is an anomaly, it rained the second week of June in 1972 and the graduation had to be moved indoors. It’s great stay-inside-and-quilt weather, which is just what I did on Saturday…

It turns out that I am the Auriful designer of the month for JUNE!

In a previous blogpost, It’s All About the Thread I talked about how much I love to use Aurifil thread.

In today’s blogpost, I want to share my AuriBuzz page with you.

You may learn some things about me that you didn’t know…

In fact, Aurifil has been super generous with a giveaway…

and… if you go and visit AuriBuzz and then comment back here…

YOU will have a chance to win an Aurifil Sample pack, and there will be several winners!

this is a sample of how many I have to give away…

So, make a creative comment and I will pick the winners on Tuesday, June 7th.

In the meantime, check out the websites and Aurifil Designer projects for the other Calendar Girls:

January: Susan Brubaker Knapp

February: Linda Lum DeBono

March: Sarah Vedeler

April: Susan Guzman

May: Kaye England

and the rest to come:

AuriBuzz will be updated at the first of each month with the new Designers projects. Don’t forget that there is a giveaway for the Aurifil Project Winner — for everyone who enters a project based on that month’s design.

Oops — I almost forgot to tell you that there is an Aurifil Thread Retailer in the U.S. where you can buy those hard-to-find Aurifil Threads online! Visit Follow That Thread for all of the details.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you!!

  1. I have been enjoying your podcasts, and enjoyed your interview with Pat. thanks for sharing so much of yourself, and your creativity. BTW, I LOVE< LOVE, LOVE Aurifil thread. It is my go-to for all my sewing and quilting needs!

  2. That is sooo awesome Annie!!!! I don’t have a LQS near to me to get the aurifil. But I do have access to wonderful and I LOVE it!!! I used it on my Stained Glass Butterfly block 🙂

  3. The pattern you have there is super-cute. I love the ric-rac. Unfortunately I don’t have time to make it because I am working on a personal charity challenge all this year. But maybe it will inspire something in my work…I did buy some gorgeous jumbo ric-rac not too long ago! 🙂 So cool that you were there for WWW turn-on…I remember in 1995 being at a computer science internship where we were required to make web pages and for us www was virtually unheard of. We all went to see a movie one day and a preview had a URL to promote it and we all burst out laughing – how hilarious because who but a bunch of computer nerds like us would even know what the heck that was! Little did we know how big a deal it would become.

  4. Congrats on being the Aurifil Calendar Girl! I think it’s awesome and can’t wait to try Aurifil the next time I need thread. Right now, I’m using Presencia, which is difficult to locate locally (Illinois), so a switch is in order.
    Congrats again,
    Anna in IL

  5. Congratulations! I just tried Aurifil thread for the first time this winter. It sews very nicely and it is great how long a spool lasts!

  6. love your interview, it was great to see a different side.

I am inspired by the idea of using bright thread on black fabric, that could make for a gorgeous, simple quilt.

  7. Catching up on your news. Congratulations, Annie! I just received a tiny 4-pack of Aurifil threads at the SAQA Conference in Denver, and they are beautiful. I can see why you love to use them. And given your talent for colour and design, I can see why Aurifil picked you as one of their ‘Calendar Girls’. Bravo!

  8. Hi Annie. I’m late in catching up on your blog but wanted to comment anyway. Congratulations on being an Aurifil designer. Aurifil is my favorite thread as well. And speaking of non-quilting news: how is it that I’ve known you and admired you for so long and never knew that you and I both worked in the HR arena during our careers? Now if only I shared some of your other talents !!! LOL!!!
