Now, on to Baton Rouge, Louisiana!

Many, many thanks to Sandra Guilbeau of the Quilt Corner shop for sticking around to talk with me and for her lagniappe*! It was such a pleasure to spend time with the great ladies of Baton Rouge.

qc1The Quilt Corner is a faboo shop, filled with beautiful fabrics, books, patterns, classes — oh my!!

An amazing quilt, is it not?

The Quilt Corner has several talented quilt designers who also teach at their shop. One is Sherry Herringshaw’s Lagniappe Quilt Designs’ “Oh My Gish” pattern. Believe it when I say that the following two quilts are miniatures that are so precise that you will stand amazed. The Log Cabin is 11″ x 11″ !!

And the “Bunkhouse Banners” by On Pins and Needles. They come in seasonal varieties — I love this type of applique!

I will feature Kathy Brown in upcoming podcast, along with her fabric and every wonderful thing. So stay tuned!

  1. Wow! Thanks for the tote pattern, Annie. It was interesting to hear all about the aftermath of Katrina.

  2. Thank you so much Annie! I was so excited to see my name listed among the lucky winners.
I am looking forward to Karen Kay Buckley’s
video. I took a class with her, at the Hershey PA show, about designing imaginative borders,
and learned so much. I will be sending you an
e-mail to further thank you & to send you the pictures of my stash and my new sewing room
(yes, I finally figured out how to use my new camera!). Thanks again!

  3. Thankyou thankyou! Young At Heart is a perfect addition to my quilting library. I tend to be a traditionalist and sometimes conservative in my tastes. I am striving to be more contemporary and ‘young at heart’. Thanks again, Annie.

  4. Wow! I can’t believe I won a prize. Thank you so much.
Listening to your podcasts has been so interesting for me. We were just talking to some of our church family who have recently been down to New Orleans to help rebuild houses. It is hard to believe that so much devestation occured but also that families are still not in decent housing or able to return to their homes. Your podcast brings to light that these people still need our help and support. Thank you for such a great podcast.
I would really like to meet you some day so if you ever come to Southern Ontario (Toronto or Niagara Falls) make sure you let me know and we can show you around out wonderful area.
    Jo Vandemey
P.S. I will let you know how my whine and strip party turns out. I can’t have it until the end of Feb or early March

  5. So excited to see I won a prize. Thank you. Can’t wait to check out the book — yet another push for me to mastery my applique techniques.

  6. How exciting to win!! It was so exciting to hear my name read out on your podcast!! I forgot to come here to your blog! Thank you so much! Thanks for the opportunity to win (Yahoo!) and also for your fabulous podcast! My morning commutes wouldn’t be the same without you. I was quite spoiled when you were on your roadtrip with your frequent updates! Fabulous!
    Cheers,
    Dionne

  7. Annie,
Thank you so much for “Gathered from the Garden”. I received it today in the mail and I look forward to many happy hours perusing the book and creating lovely quilts.
As have been out of town and out of touch,(couldn’t download your wonderful podast for the last two weeks) I just found out I had won.
