Laura’s new book
Is sensational! Well, did you expect anything different? : )
Laura is one of my all-time favorite quilters. I love her style and her wit. Listen in as Laura talks about her book.
I LOVE this book and can’t wait to work on a new quilt myself! I still have sheets of fused fabric left over from the workshop that I took from Laura that are just calling to me from my studio. But, which project from the book will I make…? That’s a tough decision because I love ALL of the little quilts in the book. Here’s a sneak peek at just one of my favorites:
Today, I’m giving away a copy of Fancifil Stitches, Colorful Quilts in eBook format — yes, you read it right, an eBook. The winner will be drawn at midnight, April 19th and they will receive their book via an email directly from C&T Publishing. Ok, so how COOL is that?!
(I think eBooks are way cool which is why I’m offering my copy in that format. I mean, it’s technology, right?!)
So, leave a comment after you visit Laura’s website and tell me what you found there that is cool to you. You’ll also want to visit Laura’s blog to see the other stops on the tour for other chances to win a copy of the book.
And, if you’ll look to the left of this blog post, you’ll see Laura’s beautiful face! If you click on that banner, you can listen to her previous podcast interview! Go on, I know you want to…

I would love my first e-book. So happy that your are blogging and podcasting.
Love your work.
I love Laura’s work. Visiting her web site today inspired me to continue with the work I have begun on a piece that I love, but ideas have been blocked. Now I’m going back to Laura’s site for more inspiration! Thanks for making her book available in eBook format. I love to download my books for immediate gratification!
Laura’s posts under “Thread-u-cation” are full with inspirations and useful tips. Thanks for hosting the blog tour. I hope to win Laura’s newest book! Thanks!
Love Laura’s Thread-U-Cation series!

That book looks like so much fun, Annie! I love being on the technology bandwagon.
Sue
The book looks great! I hope I win my first e-book. I never knew that there was the Chicago school of fusing. It was fun to read about it on Laura’s website.
I love Laura’s tutorials on various stitches and of course her humor.
I love Laura’s leaves!
What’s not cool at Laura’s website???? If I wasn’t at work, I could spend the day there just hopping from one page to the other….soooo inpsiring!
I went to Laura’s site. Her embroidery instructions are great. I first learned to embroider at the age of 3 (I have the piece to prove it) while my mother taught sewing at a Good Shepard Home. I have rarely been without a needle of some sort since then.
I love Laura’s hand dyed threads and fabrics. They are so beautifully bright. I love bright! Can’t wait to read her book. Thanks for the giveaway!
I have always loved Laura’s way of quilting …. so free and whimsy.
Love Laura’s Thread-ucation entries — so generous!
Oh, yay, another Laura interview!! I already mentioned in the birthday post that it was thanks to your first interview with her that I took Laura’s workshop last year, and had just sooo much fun!! I had her latest book in my hands just last week, the display copy at the booth of C&T’s European distributor at a trade show – it looks wonderful! There is so much on Laura’s website that is cool, I can only echo the others – I love the bright fabrics and threads, and the Thread-u-cation series, and the whimsical patterns. Definitely need to get my things out and finally finish the project started in the workshop, and the kit I bought afterwards.
This is so exciting to see her work develop with more hand embroidery. I’m not a fan of raw edge applique- I just don’t think it looks ‘finished’ enough. Her new work really sings. I really love the combination of hand and machine quilting. Reminiscent of Pamela Allen too.
love Laura’s stitches and would love the E book
Mary Ann
I love following Laura’s blog and her thread u cation, always fun to learn new things. Her style is so fun and such happy pieces.
Debbie
I love Laura’s hand dyed fabrics. I have several pieces here that I should use. I just need to right inspiration to cut into them!
What’s not to love about Laura’s website? Her sense of color, hand dyed fabrics and fibers and whimsical quilts rock!
I’ve read so much about Laura’s book on her blog. It would be great to have it as an ebook! Thanks for counting me in, Annie.
I would love to have an e book.It looks like a fun one.
I Laura’s bright colors and whimsical designs, and I can’t get enough of her leaves.
The “thread U cation” section is an education. Must go back and make some notes!
At Laura’s site I really like the education sections – threaducation and the videos. And, of course, the fabric is luscious!
I love the thread u cation! What wonderful ideas!
I adore everything about Laura’s style and her sense of humor. Her blog is a pleasure to read- not to mention informative. Thanks for hosting her e-book tour!
Laura is such and talented and fun quilter – I remember her also from TQS. I love e-books for reading – and never knew how many quilt related e-books that C&T offered – isn’t technology great!
Oops – forgot to add, I love Laura’s use of colour – it just makes you smile looking at her quilts. Also nice she previews the projects in her book – lovely!
Can’t wait to get my hands on a roll of Misty Fuse!!
I read Laura’s blog and really enjoy it. My favourite of her quilts are any with houses on them. I think they are so cute.
I even have a Nook! I love the pic of Forest Home on Laura’s blog today…
Just loved the Portfolio & Gallery section – esp. the Keiko and Friends part. Enough inspiration there for anything, so many styles, so much fun!
Laura’s work is fabulous! And I love her Thread-u-cation section on her site….what a treat to see how all the embroidery stitches are done by her. Even tho’ I know a lot of them, it has introduced me to several more I intend to try. And her fabrics and thread…oooh, la, la!! Have to get serious about some of the threads to add to my stash. But the COLOR is what draws me everytime. Bright happy colors are my color palette! Top it all off with a good sense of humor and well…congratulations Laura for a job well done!
PICK ME!! It’s my birthday and this would be such an awesome gift.
I am in love with the hand dyed fabrics on Laura’s website. YUMMMMM.
I love everything Laura does………..It’s all happy!
I love the bright and vivid colors of Laura’s work. The creativity in her work is amazing…it is so whimsical. Love it.
2nd try comment…
I love Laura is doing more embroidery in her new work. I think it gives the raw edge quilts a more finished look. I’m working on a art quilt with hand stitching and machine quilting I love using both in the same quilt. And she even dyes thread!!
I have just finished a quilt using some of Laura’s threads and stitches I had not done before that I found on her website. What a treasure.
Bev
I love EBOOKS and Laura. She does the cutest quilts. One of her quilts is on my to do list. It is a long list but I think she it near the top. 🙂
My favorite place on Laura’s site is the portfolio of art quilts; second favorite is Artfabric.
Laura’s quilts are like a bit of sunshine! I love the addition of Laura’s handwork to the fusing. It adds a warmth and texture to her work. It somehow personalizes her quilts.
I loved the Thread-U-cation section. I am inspired to do some hand stitching on my quilts.
I found her Thread-u-cation section very interesting. Learned that a quilt should be fused to the non-scrim side of the batting. I never heard of that. Now I just need to learn how to tell which side is the non-scrim side, Ha-Ha.

Laura’s website is too much fun! I loved it when she visited our guild last year.
One of the best parts of her site is that you can find the great hand-dyed threads she offers for sale to use when you make your quilts form her new book!
Actually, the whole site is pretty great.
-Mary
I love Laura’s work! I am very excited to see all of the wonderful threads that she offers in her shop. They are just what I have been searching for. I will be spending more time perusing her website. Thanks Annie for another great interview!
I love her Artfabrik! Every color she makes is part of my personal palette. And my favorite out of the house patterns is the beach house. I’m longing for a beach right about now as winter still has a pretty good grip on us here in Canada still.
What’s not to love on Laura’s website??? But, if I HAVE to choose a favorite–it would be threaducation as every time I check in there, I’m awed and inspired!!
I just got home from my guild meeting where Laura was our speaker – she is hysterical! I looked through her new book, and I really want to make the windmill quilt. (I’m Dutch and love windmills and tulips – hopefully I’ll get to visit Holland someday!)
I love Laura’s blog. She has some wonderful tutorials. I also love her wit.
there is just something about that iron icon – it reminds me of a little iron I had when I was a little girl – at a time when I had such fun ironing my dollies clothes – NOW, my iron is used only for quilting. I have had Laura’s new book on my Amazon wish list ever since it was put on advance order there! and I’ve not been able to find it at our local quilt store, so I sure hope I win it!
