I decided that it’s finally time to empty out my “Treasure Box” to make room for the new treasures that will be sent to me with the advent of Fall Quilt Market. So, in regular style, I’m passing on the goodies and gems to you.

But before we go there, I want to remind you that the Exploring Fabric Choices online class registration has been extended to October 15th. Which means, you have until October 15th to sign up for the most important workshop you will ever take. On October 16th, registration will close and it will go into the Quilting Stash Classroom archives. Don’t delay — you will have 30 days from the day you sign up to complete the workshop, which is usually completed in 2 days.

Here are the rules before we start:

Leave me a comment for each book you desire to win. Do not leave me a comment with a list of books you desire to win — I will delete any comments that has a list of books. I want one comment for one book. You can leave as many comments as you wish. You can win more than once, if I draw your name.

In the comment field, I want to know why you like this book, what inspires you, etc. so I can give that feedback to the Publishers — who want to know!

I will draw the lucky winners on October 19th — so please comment!

Here are the books for the Giveaway:

These next two books, and only these two books, are counted as ONE Giveaway:

and last but not least…

so, good luck! And remember the rules for entering the Giveaway, located at the top of the blog!

  1. ” Sew THE Perfect Gift” sounds like a treasure trove. I need things I can do WITH my family around. I cannot always be huddled in the sewing room. Sounds like such a cute and varied book. I bet, after how you went on about the cute-ness, that this book will be hard to get- but I will try! Thanks, Annie, for being so generous.

  2. Sew Wild (So Wild?) sounds like a lot of fun. I like to incorporate other mediums into my quilts. I am exploring a lot of things. The doodling and text sounds like exactly what I am trying to figure out. Wet painting on wet fabric???? wow. Please put me in the drawing. The Elmer’s glue things (resist) sounds like batik. What a great idea!!!! Too many incredible books in this world!!!

  3. A Fiber Artist’s Guide to Color and Design…. sounds so cool. Each book you describe gets better and better. I am getting confused as to whether or not you are giving away the books from your own library or not… but if you are – enter me for this one!

  4. “Missing Persons”, whether it is about quilts or not, sounds so …mysterious. I have not read her books and would like to get to know her. I could use it for my book club. Thanks for the introduction.

  5. I would like to be in the drawing for, “Threading the Needle” . I remember that podcast and would LOVE to read it. I really want to get hold of those older historical novels you mentioned!

  6. “These Is My Words’ is the most CHARMING book!!! We also read it in our RS Book Group. I read all three and just wanted to meet that amazing woman! I loved the way she talked and the way she thought. I am impressed by her guts and loved the history. Don’t put me in the drawing… I have all three but HAD to comment!

  7. Wow – I have been asking you to put me into the drawing for your own library of books! but now I know, Please put me into the drawing for ” The Art of Elegant Hand Embroider, Embellishment, and Hand Applique”. You are a good advertiser because you have convinced me I need everything you talk about!!! hahaha

  8. ” The Big (you know what…) book of home Decor”
sounds like fun. Wow. Please put me in for that. I love to paint, stitch and stencil and need some contemporary ideas.

  9. I would love to be in the drawing for the unique book called, “Simple Graces”. I would like to get better at working with wool. Thanks Annie!

  10. What book wouldn’t I like? I love the way “Word Play Quilts” look. I am a little bit of an unruly quilter myself. I love words, quotes and using names on quilts. How fun to combine words and other things!! I can see making kind of a crossword quilt for grandchildren with their names and other fun words in it. Please put me in the drawing (surprise!!) . I like funky stuff and have LOTS of scraps to use.

  11. “Quilting on the Go” could really be a great book for me. I really want to see how this is done! Please put me into the drawing. All my time in the car could be well used.

  12. ” Start with a Sweatshirt 2″ !!!!! I have been meaning to figure out how to do this for years. Please put me into the draw. I am always looking for a shortcut to make some beautiful clothes that look quilty or just plain creative. I am particularly interested in seeing the turn back cuff and the longer length. Wow.

  13. Please put me into the draw for” the Quilts of Thimble Creek.” I have heard you talk about that shop in your podcast. Lots of talented people that I have also heard you talk about… are in it! Thanks

  14. ” Welcome Home” is one I would like. I would be interested in how he translates quilts from things used in design. Very interesting. How he designs fabric will be interesting. Thanks Annie!

  15. As a big fan of floral applique, I would love win Janice Vaine’s book, “The Art of Elegant Hand Embroidery Embellishment and Applique.” I would love to see what I would be able to add to my applique quilts. Something to draw the eye and make viewers say “Wow!”

  16. I love to decorate my home with things that I have made, but I can’t help that my home starts to look “too country.” I think that Mark Montano’s book “The Big-Ass Book of Home Decor” wood help my out of this rut. His book can help me give it a bit of contemporary style.

  17. The quilt on the cover “Bloom Creek Quilts.” It had grabbed me and, of course, it’s with Moda fabric, which I love. I would love to see the other quilts the Vicki Bellino has in her book.

  18. I have always wanted to make a quilt for each of the holidays. Melinda Bula’s book “Candy Cane Lane Quilts and More to Sweeten the Holidays” would be a perfect book to start a Christmas themed quilt. And I love to applique so how couls I resist!

  19. I had initially heard the podcast while driving in my car. When I heard you describe the book, “House Party Coordinated Quilts and Pillows” by Sue Hunt, I couldn’t get home quick enough to see what fabrics I had left over to make matching pillowcases or shams. What a great way to use up the fabrics left over from a finished quilt.

  20. I tend to shy away from large print fabrics because I feel that they are too busy. I think that Cindy Casciato’s book “Stash With Splash Quilts” would give me an opportunity to see quilts in a new directions. It will show me how to put it together without becoming overwhelmed.

  21. The cover of “Simple Graces Charming Quilts and Companion Projects” by Kim Diehl looks like it may consist of a lot of scrappy quilts. That’s okay because I adore scrappy quilts. And I can’t wait to start on the yo-yo quilt (welcome wagon) that you descibed.

  22. If the cover is anything like the inside the book, the book must be exceptional!. “Flower Show Quilts” by Lynn Ann Majidimehr looks like it should be a watercolor painting book – but it done with fabrics! I would to see more of what she has inside her book.

  23. I love to applique and I would love to “piece” a quilt to look like “applique.” “Pieced Applique” by Penny Haren would give me a new area of quilting to try.

  24. I would love to see the quick projects that Penny Haren’s has in her book “Pieced Applique Weekend Projects” (but there is no photo!) As intriguing as her first book looks, I’d look to see her simpler projects.

  25. I am a hand-quilter and I love to take my work with me where ever I go. But to take a quilt that is in it’s quilting stage is impossible. I’d love to see how Carolyn Forster does it in her book “Quilting-on-the-Go.”

  26. Although I am not an art-quilter, I am a big fan of asian quilters. As an asian quilter myself (okay, I am only half-asian), I love to see the works of my talented “sisters” (or “brothers”). The sheer quilt that you had described in Yoshiko Jinzenji’s book “Quilting Line and Color: Technique and Designs for Abstract Quilts” sounds like the quilts that are made in South Korea (where my family is from).

  27. I love the “Schnibbles” style. Carrie Nelson has a distinct style that all her own. I have some of her patterns and “Another Bite of Schnibbles 24 Quilts from 5″ to 10″ Sqaures” would be a great addition to my collection.

  28. Oh my gosh!! I can’t believe you’ll will be giving away this book. “The Rose of Sharon Block Book” is definately a “drop your jaw” quilt. I had seen just a couple of blocks recently and I went on a frantic search for the quilt. I have fallen in LOVE with it! I don’t know if it’s the applique designs that they used together or the beautiful colors in the fabrics that grabbed me, but it is certainly a quilt that I will HAVE to make!!

  29. I have come from a background of garment sewing and “Start with a Sweatshirt 2” by Nancie Wiseman would be perfect for me. Plus it would include the perfect projects that I can do when I need a break from traditional quilting.

  30. I am not from California but the names that you had mentioned from the book are very familiar. “Quilts from Thinble Creek” sounds as if it is a “quilt show” of my favorite quilters. I would love to see the collection of quilts in the book.

  31. Another “must have” book, especially for applique lovers. In my opinion, “Hop to It! Appliqued Blocks & Projects” by Edyta Sitar has a very rich yet fun style to them. They are beautifully put together and it is another quilt that I will need to add to my to-do list.

  32. I would love to read “Welcome Home” to see how Kaffe Fassett’s thought-process on his design of quilts as well as his home. He is a very talented being, so many talents rolled into one person. I would be privileged to learn a little bit of his style from him.

  33. My choice would be Judy Hopkins’s Big Book of Patchwork because I have her other book the 501 Rotary Cut and her book is fantastic!

  34. My choice would be Edyta Sitar’s Hop to It as it features her amazing design with easy applique techniques. Thanks for the great chance!

  35. Looks fabulous is Sharon Pedersen’s Rose of Sharon. I’m a bit intimidated with applique due to prep works but Sharon’s books looks so stunning!

  36. This technique sounds intriguing. I don’t do hand applique, but if I can do it on the machine, it might be fun.

  37. Annie, as you know, I love to do lots of applique by hand, but I have jumped out and purchased the new Janome 12000 and so I think that “Piece in the Hoop” sounds like something I might need to play with. It’s hard to pick from so many.

  38. Hi again Annie! I keep going back to the Rose of Sharon book – thats the one for me! I just love the blocks – the colors grab my first, the blocks look very interesting. What a find. Thank you for the chance – and your podcast was great!

  39. Hi again – the Hop To It book would be another choice for me. I love to applique and these blocks look different from other books featuring an applique album style. Would love to make the cover quilt in wools or a brighter color scheme. Thank you for the choices!!

  40. The Art of Elegant Hand Embroidery Embellishment and Applique sounds like a book I would love. I like that Janice Vaine included a DVD with block pattens as well as a reduction and enlargement chart. This book would inspire me to add that special touch to my applique blocks and would show me how to do it.

  41. I like the cover of Candy Cane Lane by Melinda Bula. It makes me want to start a holiday quilt that has a contemporary folk art look. I really like that it includes full-size patterns.

  42. I like the companion projects such as the pincushions and penny rug patterns included in Simple Graces by Kim Diehl. I think this book would be a great inspiration to work with wool, too.

  43. Word Play Quilts by Tonya Ricucci would inspire me to include messages in my quilts. I also like the scrappy look.

  44. I’m so sorry to hear that Judy Hopkins has passed away! I keep her “Around the Block” books at hand and use them all the time. I know The Big Book of Patchwork would be full of the wonderful traditional quilts she always designed.

  45. I love using pre-cuts and Another Bite of Schnibbles by Carrie Nelson would inspire me to use some of the newest pre-cuts in the quilt shops. I also like that design options are included.

  46. Country Threads Goes to Charm School has such a catchy title. I love Country Threads designs and it would be fun to use some of the new fabrics with their folksy designs.

  47. The cover of The Rose of Sharon Block Book is really beautiful. I like the different size of design elements included in the book. I would be inspired to use the design elements to try and design a block of my own.
