I decided that it’s finally time to empty out my “Treasure Box” to make room for the new treasures that will be sent to me with the advent of Fall Quilt Market. So, in regular style, I’m passing on the goodies and gems to you.
But before we go there, I want to remind you that the Exploring Fabric Choices online class registration has been extended to October 15th. Which means, you have until October 15th to sign up for the most important workshop you will ever take. On October 16th, registration will close and it will go into the Quilting Stash Classroom archives. Don’t delay — you will have 30 days from the day you sign up to complete the workshop, which is usually completed in 2 days.
Here are the rules before we start:
Leave me a comment for each book you desire to win. Do not leave me a comment with a list of books you desire to win — I will delete any comments that has a list of books. I want one comment for one book. You can leave as many comments as you wish. You can win more than once, if I draw your name.
In the comment field, I want to know why you like this book, what inspires you, etc. so I can give that feedback to the Publishers — who want to know!
I will draw the lucky winners on October 19th — so please comment!
Here are the books for the Giveaway:

These next two books, and only these two books, are counted as ONE Giveaway:

and last but not least…

so, good luck! And remember the rules for entering the Giveaway, located at the top of the blog!

I like that the book Country Threads Goes to Charm school has small quilts in it. Sometimes you just want to complete a quilt in a short amount of time. Also, small quilts are great for practicing or perfecting your free motion quilting. They are easier to manipulate when you are quilting using home sewing machine.
My favorite book in your giveaway collection is Sonya Ricucci’s Word Play Quilts. I love the idea of this book. I grew a lot of gourds a year ago and had planned on inscribing some of her 4 letter words onto some of my gourds and give them away for Christmas presents. I’d love to make a quilt from her book for me. Thanks, Annie, for the giveaway.
My favorite is start with a sweatshirt2 as I have always wanted to make a quilted one. Let us see if I am lucky this time.
Teresa
I am one of your podcast listeners who has never left a comment before. The reason is because I don’t always get to listen right away and so I miss the deadlines. Plus, I try to not accumulate things unless I am sure I would use them.
If my name were drawn, I would love to win the Flower Show Quilts book because it looks beautiful and learning applique techniques is becoming a big interest to me. Thank you!
The 45 Quilt Blocks-Animals would be a wonderful book to win because I am going to be a first-time grandmother in a few months and if my granddaughter is like her mother, she will love animals! I think you said on your podcast that you were including the Flowers book with the animals. If so, that is an extra bonus!
I love modernism and minimalism, so Quilting Line and Color would be another book I would be intrigued to own.
This is a wonderful giveaway, so thank you very much, but most of all, thank you for your podcast. It is always such a treat to see it show up in iTunes!
I enjoyed hearing about all of the books and the giveaway made it all the more exciting.
The Stash with Splash Quilts especially appeals to me as I need to do some stash busting. This sounds like a book that would provide good ideas for using my stash.
The Art of Elegant Hand Embroidery Embellishment and Applique appeals to me as I enjoy both hand embroidery and hand applique. I haven’t done any embellishment beyond the embroidery and applique so this book should give me some new ideas.
HI Annie, I finally caught up with all your episodes and could leave a comment to actually win something. First I’d like to say that I’m thrilled that you’re back and LOOOVE your podcast! My favorite book in here is Mark Montano’s The Big-Ass book of Home decor. I heard about it on Mark Lipinski’s Creative Mojo a while ago and wanted to buy it since then. I even considered to order it a few days ago from amazon.com, but I’ve put it on the wish list instead. I started to make stuff for our home so it would be a great book to get ideas from. Thanks for sharing these books with us!
Piece in the Hoop intrigues me. I have an embroidery machine, but haven’t tried piecing with it. I would like to give it a try!
Kim Diehl’s Simple Graces sounded like it is full of ideas that I could use that have a scrappy yet coordinated look.
I’d like to leave a comment for Candy Cane Lane by Melinda Bula. I love her designs! And my favorite holiday is Christmas, what do you know 🙂 So I’d wish to win this book so much. Thank you for the opportunity!
The 45 Blocks of Animals and 45 Blocks of Flowers sound and look like a fun way to improve my paper piecing skills. I like the idea of one theme for the entire book.
All of your podcasts are a pleasant and inspiring listen, but the book ones especially appeal to me. I’m now going to go to our library web site to see if Missing Pieces or the Nancy Turner book series is available from our library.
As I started to go to the library web site to look for the fiction books reviewed when I saw the title These Is My Words, it reminded me that another of your giveaway books that I am interested in is Word Play. This sounds like a fun way to incorporate words into quilts. The freestyle method sounded nifty.
I”d like to have the book Fresh Quilting by Malka Dubrawsky. I actually went to Amazon to watch the video that comes on when you search for the book and I like her style very much. I’m also found of the color choices she has with the projects. Thanks, Annie!
I’d like to win The Art of Elegant Embrodiery, Embellishment, and Applique, which I have not read, because I’m currently working my way through Judith Baker Montano’s Embroidery and Crazy Quilt Stitch Tool and another perspective would be helpful. I just have a picture in my head of myself spontaneously creating embroidered pieces that I’ll enjoy displaying, curating, and passing on. Anything that will help me reach this goal is desirable. And just from the cover, I’m guessing this book will have inspirational photographs.
Piece in the Hoop looks like a skill expander. I have a very nice embroidery sewing machine whose assets I haven’t fully explored. I’m probably a bit intimidated. Having a resource that will lead me step by step through using some of the embroidery tools on my machine will build my confidence, which is the first step to mastery.
Hop to It: Appliqued Blocks and Projects seems as though it will have settings I haven’t seen before. I like designing my own applique quilts, and seeing what others have done gives me ideas — especially when the other work is done in modern styles and fabrics.
I would like the Piece in the Hoop book because I’d like to try the technique.
Quilting Line and Color because I need soooooo much help with these things! 🙂
I’d love Hop to It, appliqué is my passion.
Candy Cane Lane, who wouldn’t love another Christmas book?
Applique books are the best, I’d like Flower Show Quilts.
Quilts of Thimble Creek. I love their quilts.
Quilting on the Go. Looks interesting.
Country Threads Goes to Charm School looks like a great book to use some of those charm packs that seem to hop into my shopping basket every time I visit a quilt shop. I can always use more inspiration for quilts to use them in new ways.
Such a generous giveaway, Annie! Thank you! Please put my name into the hat (bowl) for the Kaffe Fassett book “Welcome Home”. Knowing how beautiful his fabrics are, this book is sure to contain great inspiration for home dec.
The “Bloom Creek Quilts” is one I’d love to win. The soft, sweet aesthetic of the cover appeals to me, and I was further intrigued to hear you comment in the podcast that it includes a modern twist.
If only for it’s title, “The Big Ass Book of Home Decor” is on my list. Also, I find home dec sewing to be very rewarding — plus you get to see the results of your work every day! For this reason, it’s hard for me to pass up books on home dec sewing. I also like that you don’t have to worry about fitting, the way you do with garment sewing!
Please add me to the mix for the book “House Party” I just love the colorful umbrella quilt on the cover. Adding coordinating pillows is a great idea – often I end up with a block that’s not quite right for my quilt, but I don’t want to discard it, so making a pillow out of it would be perfect.
“Start with a Splash” is very appealing to me — the bright colors just draw me in. I also like the feature of having a DVD — makes learning new things easier to see and hear it both.
Please put me down for “Simple Graces” — I just love the idea of the companion pieces. So often, a handmade gift would be perfect but a quilt would be too much. Inspiration for smaller projects would be most welcome for me.
Wow Annie. What a great giveaway. OK, the first book I would love to win is Word Play Quilts. I saw this on a recent The Quilt Show and it looks so fun and “forgiving”. There are times where that is exactly the type of quilting I want to do.
Fresh Quilting would be great to win. I have checked it out of my library several times because it has such a divers group of projects in it.
Anothe Bite of Snibbles would be great to win. I have one of the earlier books and love the different quilts I can make with the precuts.
The Pieced Applique book looks great. I think this technique is very interesting and would love to give it a try.
All of the pieced applique books look interesting so I’ll toss my name in the hat for Pieced Applique More Blocks & Projects.
I’ll try for one of the pieced applique books so I’ll toss my name in the hat for Pieced Applique Intricate Blocks Made Easy. This technique really has sparked my interest. The blocks look beautiful.
I like the Country Threads goes to Charm School book. I love anything country. I live in the country. That is the book I would love to win.
I’d love to have “Flower Show Quilts” in my library. My favorite quilts are those that combine piecing and applique.
Fresh Quilting uses wonderful blocks of colors to achieve the modern look which I adore. Sign me up!
I would love to win Another Bite of Schnibbles so that I can use some of the charm packs in my stash.
Penny Haren’s Pieced Applique — intricate blocks made easy
I am really drawn to intricate, traditional blocks. I think this book would provide lots of inspiration, and I hope some new techniques. Looks very interesting!!
Kaffe Fassett is not only a great designer but a wonderful writer. His books are inspirational and insightful. I would LOVE to have Welcome Home in my library (after taking a long tour of duty on my coffee table first!)
The quilt on the cover of Quilting on the Go looks to be made of 2.5″ strips. I’m always looking for ways to use my stash of jelly rolls, so I’d like to toss my name into this hat.
The Big Book of Patchwork is a classic book by Judy Hopkins that I don’t own. I hope you draw my name so that I can put it in my library.
Hi Annie, I like the ‘Stash with Splash Quilts’. As a new quilter who has already acquired a stash I like the idea of a DVD demonstrating the techniques.
Thanks Alicia
Hi Annie – I would love to win the Quilting: Line + color book. I often miss your deadlines, that is why I don’t comment. Also I quite often listen while I am out running so by the time I get back I just forget to visit the site. Thanks for a wonderful podcast!
Ok I can’t resist. I’d also like to enter to win the Kaffe Fasset book. He is so cool!
Hi Annie,
My favorite is Welcome Home by Kaffe Fassett. I love his color sense. And he knits, too!!
Thanks for this special podcast!
