Program #84 – Quilt Market Update 1

podcast
Running time: 00:06:40 Size: 3.1MB

This week I’m in Salt Lake City showing my new pattern line at Quilt Market.

It’s been a real busy two weeks leading up to ‘Market and even busier now that we’re about to begin the show.

My plan is to call-in and give you short updates at least once each day.

Here is my first one! In the meantime, I will be sending photos “almost live” using my cellphone camera and a service called Tumblr. It is on Tumblr I can directly send the pictures I take – with a short description of what you are looking at.

The Road To Quilt Market

Hi All! You may have noticed there was no podcast this week. The reason is because I’ve been getting ready for Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. I’ll be introducing 4 new patterns at the show. On the day of the show, I’ll be introducing them on this website. I can’t wait to read what you think about them.

In the meantime, I’m going to be calling in daily reports from Quilt Market. Not only do I have a booth at the trade show, I also have press credentials. This podcasting gig helped out in that arena. There I’ll be interviewing several well-know artists, teachers, and even publishers.

In the meantime, go to my Tumblr site where I’ll be posting pictures almost live during my trip to Market. Click here to get the link and see what’s going on.

So until my first podcast from Quilt Market – Happy Quilting!!

In this show I talk with my sister, Susan, about quilting and her fabric shopping experiences in Oregon. Susan is new to the state and has lots of new adventures to report.

Here is a picture of me with my big Sis and little Sis. Susan is in the middle, I am on your left, and our sister, Judie, is on your right. This is the infamous chair where Susan sat on a pair of scissors, aided by Judie and me. The scissors were pointy — ouch!

Program 81 – Getting In Touch With My Masculine Side

podcast
Running time: 18:43 Size: 8.7MB

I am such a girl! Over the past few days I’ve been trying to take a new perspective with my craft and think more like a man. I think this time, I over-did it.

Join me as I talk about how to entertain the men – and other family members in my life while I do the things I love to do the best: quilt and shop for fabric.

Harley Davidson of Santa Cruz is right across the street from Hart’s Fabrics. How cool is that?!
Be sure to check out Hart’s selection of fun, unique cottons for your next project: Anime Fabric

***The photo of Annie in Harley-branded leather chaps has been withheld by request. DANG!***

Golf is a nice trade-off to offer your non-shopping traveling companion while you visit Back Porch Fabrics in Pacific Grove, CA. While I shop,my family loves to take a ride along the Monterey Bay coastline in a peddle-yourself surrey or bicycle.

Lunch or dinner is always a treat at Peppers Mexicali Caf

Program 80 – About National Quilt Guilds

podcast
Running time: 1:00:50 Size: 27.9MB

Kelley Koszegi asked:
“I was wondering if Annie might talk about quilt guilds on a podcast. I am confused about the different groups — what is the difference between AQS and the NQA? Does one favor say, art quilting over traditional? Can you be a member of both? Do they have very different historical and current goals? Do they have different membership advantages?”
